THE SMEET FROG
VERSUS THE SUN DRESS OF DOOM
A puppet show written by Kirk Kitchen and Naia Venturi
Smeet frog

In this story the Smeet frog must save the day once again when he and little Timmy happens upon a sinister plot devised by Doctor Darkula and his cohort Lawyer Numbreaster. The diabolical duo invent a sundress woven out of black-widow spider silk that when worn by unsuspecting girls turns them into unstoppable, precision shopping machines. Will the Smeet frog and Timmy be able to save Timmy's friend Suzy from the effects of the dress, and receive yet another medal of commendation from Mayor Tiller? Come see the show and find out!

Evening performance:
Saturday September 3rd at 7:00 PM

Matinee performance:
Sunday September 4th at 3:00

General admission $5.00

Seating is limited so reservations are encouraged.

Two Saturdays, September 17th and 24th

The Dreamland Puppet troupe presents:
"The Story of Cinder-White and the three _________'s"

A mad-lib marionette show for kids! In this mixed-up fairy tale the kids in the audience get to help create the story! A script containing a satirical conglomeration of traditional fairy tales has blanks to be filled in by the children in the audience prior to the show. After the key words for the story have been gathered, (and while the puppeteers scramble back stage to create the appropriate props) the audience will have the opportunity to participate in a game show (with prizes!) called the Wheel of Weird! Guaranteed to be a good time for all!

Matinee performance:
Saturday September 17th 3:00 PM

Evening performance:
Saturday September 24th 7:00 PM

General admission $5.00

PAUL METZGER
Improvisations on Modified Banjo and Guitar

"Metzger has located a quivering space between the raga open-string drone and the ear-warping harmonic meditations of Tony Conrad, and the combined logic puts us both out of time and right in the body of the misshapen instrument." --Pitchfork

"flute-like at times, others like a mandolin. The best banjo playing ever." --WFMU

"This quiet, gently tangled and explorative disc features an absolute master working at his best. His hypnotizing, circular playing is rich without being overdone, non-violent without disappearing into the background, abstract while retaining deep emotion. As darkly beautiful as your favorite John Fahey record." --Jackpot Records

Also playing:

Forgotten Works

Forgotten Works is the moniker of Erik Wivinus when working in a largely solo and predominantly acoustic capacity. These performances tend toward long-form, raga-tinged mystical improvisations for 6 and 12 string guitars, with the occasional foray into vocal territory.

Erik currently plays or has played with such groups as Salamander, Skye Klad, and Gotterdammerung, among others. The first gig he ever played was at Patrick's Cabaret well over a decade ago.
