The Dreamland Puppet troupe presents: SQUEAKY TOY ~ A GHOST DOG'S TALE. A Halloween puppet show for all ages. Written by Naia Venturi and Thomas J. Barton Marionettes, video projection and shadow puppets are used to tell this spooky little tail that follows a boy on a surreal journey. With original music by Confusion Reactor. The Dreamland Theater presents: PARADISE REGAINED and DEAD WHEN SHE'S AWAKE Two plays written and directed by Richard Ritter Two plays showing contrary states of the human soul and what unites them. "Paradise Regained" concerns a teenage girl, thrust into the spotlight against her will, who traces the history of the world from The Fall to Armageddon and its aftermath, explaining what went wrong and how it got righted. "Dead When She's Awake" explores the violent passions of a young woman whose search for her mother leads her to Cass Corridor and self-discovery. The cast includes Thomas J. Improv with the Vegans One hour of improv comedy with two great teams from Metro Detroit Come out to the Dreamland Theater and get buzzed with the Vegans. Thursday October 6th Dreamland Local Music Showcase: AMOEBA KIDS ALMUS MAGNUS BLACK SKY 8-10 PM Free Thursday October 13th Dreamland Local Music Showcase: MELTING MOMENTS Melting Moments is the duo of Anna Vitale on lead vocals and keyboards and Jason Adam Voss on lead guitar and backing vocals. They play in the idiom of ace deuce casio noise sex pop sweets, and their music combines poetic lyrics about such topics as rock music, dragons, body image and anti-social behavior with gnarly guitar work and danceable beats. They will have a secret new lineup and format for the show. WALLACE BROTHERS The members of this Ypsi-based pop duo are both in fact Wallaces, but only Mark is a brother, since his sister Carey is a girl. They sing together and apart and Carey writes succinct, literate lyrics to go with Mark's expertly written pop melodies. They have just recently released "Popular Songs that Will Live Forever, Vol. 5: Rock and Roll," which will knock your socks off, and rumour has it that volume six is even better and is in the electropop tradition. WANDA Royal Oak-based Wanda is the solo project of Samantha Linn, whose powerful voice is accompanied by minimal acoustic guitar playing that has some interesting harmonic work.
