Nightspell

NIGHTSPELL - a play written and directed by Kate Ritter. Nightspell is set in a mythical time and place and depicts the fragile life of snow creatures whose existence is threatened by a changing world. Nightspell is a charming, life affirming work for the family. Original music composed by Misha Grey. Original dance choreographed by Kate Ritter. The cast includes Naia Venturi, Ursula Ritter, Deon Sullivan, Richard Ritter, Misha Grey, Kylie Power-Sullivan, and Kate Ritter.

SATISFACTION GUARANTEED - The story of a man on the verge of suicide whose last hope for satisfaction in life lies in a perfect bag of potato chips.

REALITY INCORPORATED - Have you ever wondered why reality is the way that it is? This play will reveal the answer to this and other deep questions (like why cows aren't purple). Reality Incorporated reveals a glimpse of the daily grind in the customer service department of the company that defines reality as we know it.

DIRT! - Love is blind, and triumphs over evil in this musical melodrama about the beautiful and innocent Marianne, Evil Ezechial Cramrod the Third, and a lonely piece of dirt.

Local artists and musicians collaborate in this kaleidoscopic event. The audience sits at the center as artists rotate around them painting on the paper covered walls of Dreamland. Improvised music accompanies the painting, and prompts the artists as to when they must move to a new position.

C-E-N-T-E-R ART PROJECT


The Dreamland Theater will be showing a screen of videos from the C-E-N-T-E-R Art Project along with live performances by local contributors to the project, Bubblegone and Curtis Paul.

C-E-N-T-E-R ART PROJECT was founded by Vasily Shumov in March 2004 with an idea of how new media artists and musicians can collaborate using latest computer technologies and computer networks. Since spring 2004 various visual and music artists from the United States and Europe joined C-E-N-T-E-R ART PROJECT. In the fall 2004 the first video art compilation became available on DVD for presentations and screenings.

C-E-N-T-E-R ART PROJECT now includes more than 20 visual artists, musicians, and actors from various cities in the United States and Europe.

An interactive variety show featuring a puppet show based on audience input, live music and quiz show games. The audience gets to help create a puppet show by volunteering words that will fill in a puppet script, "mad-lib" style. Music and more games fill out the evening, which culminates in a performance of the audience's script by the Dreamland puppet troupe.
